Title of Regulation: 8VAC20-131. Regulations Establishing Standards for Accrediting Public Schools in Virginia.

Statutory Authority: § 22.1-253.13:3 of the Code of Virginia.

The State Board of Education has WITHDRAWN the regulatory action for 8VAC20-131, Regulations Establishing Standards for Accrediting Public Schools in Virginia, which was published as a Notice of Intended Regulatory Action in 37:17 VA.R. 2385-2386 April 12, 2021. The purpose of the proposed action was to (i) make clarifying technical edits, (ii) incorporate items unaddressed during the comprehensive update in 2017, and (iii) address negative or unintended consequences of the new, as of 2017, accreditation model and correct errors where prudent. This action is being withdrawn by the State Board of Education.
