BOARD OF ACCOUNTANCY

Notice of Intended Regulatory Action

Notice is hereby given in accordance with § 2.2-4007.01 of the Code of Virginia that the Board of Accountancy intends to consider amending 18VAC5-22, Board of Accountancy Regulations. The purpose of the proposed action is to ensure the regulation (i) protects public health, safety, and welfare; (ii) addresses changes in statute; (iii) is easily understandable and enforceable; (iv) codifies longstanding agency policies; (v) complies with Executive Order 19 (2022) concerning regulation reduction; and (vi) reflects current licensing requirements and professional standards.

The agency does not intend to hold a public hearing on the proposed action after publication in the Virginia Register.
