TITLE 18. PROFESSIONAL AND OCCUPATIONAL LICENSING
Notice is hereby given in accordance with § 2.2-4007.01 of the Code of Virginia that the Board for Contractors intends to consider amending 18VAC50-30, Individual License and Certification Regulations. In response to the Governor's regulatory reform initiative, the Board for Contractors will review and amend its current regulations to repeal regulations that are unnecessary or no longer in use and reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens on businesses and other regulated groups.
The proposed amendments will focus solely on a general but comprehensive review of the existing regulations. The review will amend the regulations to (i) eliminate burdensome entry, renewal, and reinstatement standards; (ii) simplify the explanations of requirements; and (iii) ultimately produce regulations that already effectively protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public that will be more easily read and understood by the public.
The agency intends to hold a public hearing on the proposed action after publication in the Virginia Register.
Statutory Authority: § 54.1-201 of the Code of Virginia.
Public Comment Deadline: February 27, 2013.
