Notice is hereby given in accordance with § 2.2-4007.01 of the Code of Virginia that the Department of Forestry intends to consider amending 4VAC10-30, Virginia State Forests Regulations. The purpose of the proposed action is to (i) ensure that the regulations represent the current uses of state forests, (ii) ensure a safe environment for the public, and (iii) provide a meaningful recreational experience for users, in concert with the normal operational business practices of the state forests.

The agency does not intend to hold a public hearing on the proposed action after publication in the Virginia Register.

The purpose of the proposed action is to (i) conduct a comprehensive review of the entire chapter, which was last amended effective May 2, 2005, and (ii) revise the regulation to reflect Chapters 588 and 650 of the 2013 Acts of Assembly.

The agency intends to hold a public hearing on the proposed action after publication in the Virginia Register.
