BOARD FOR PROFESSIONAL AND OCCUPATIONAL REGULATION
Public Hearing and Opportunity for Public Comment on Proposed Regulation of Radon Professionals
The Board for Professional and Occupational Regulation (BPOR) is conducting an analysis and evaluation on the proposed regulation of providers of radon services. BPOR received a petition for regulation from the Virginia Chapter of the Indoor Environments Association proposing licensure of (i) radon measurement professionals and (ii) radon mitigation specialists. BPOR is seeking public comment on the petition for regulation.
Comments may be posted in the Virginia Regulatory Town Hall forum associated with this notice or may be submitted directly to BPOR. In addition, BPOR will conduct public hearings June 16, 2026, in Board Room 3 and July 15, 2026, in Board Room 4 at 10 a.m. at the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation, Perimeter Center, Suite 200, Richmond, VA 23233. All comments must be received on or before Thursday, July 16, 2026.
